Victoria Peak

How To Plan Your Victoria Peak Itinerary

If you’re visiting Hong Kong, Victoria Peak is a must-see destination that offers breathtaking views of the city skyline. To make the most of your trip to Victoria Peak, you can follow this half-day itinerary that includes some of the top attractions and activities in the area.

Transportation

You can take the MTR to Central Station, then decide whether to walk to the peak tram terminus or take Bus 15 from Exchange Square. The peak tram was under renovation for over a year and reopened in August 2022. The new tram has clear windows on the side, even though we are not seated in the front row, we can still see the beautiful view of Hong Kong as the tram goes up. If this is your first time, I highly recommend to take the tram to Victoria Peak.

Victoria Peak Attractions

Besides the stunning city view, some of the attractions at Victoria Peak include Monopoly Dreams, the Sky Terrace, Madness 3D Adventure, and the Hong Kong Trail.

Madame Tussaud Museum

If you’re a fan of celebrities, you won’t want to miss the Madame Tussaud’s Museum. This popular attraction is home to lifelike wax figures of some of the world’s most famous actors, singers, and other popular figures. You can take pictures with your favorite celebrities and even get up close and personal with their detailed features and signature outfits. From Hollywood legends to pop sensations, Madame Tussaud has it all. So, whether you’re a music lover, movie buff, or simply looking for a fun and unique experience, be sure to add Madame Tussaud’s Museum to your list of must-visit destinations.

A standard admission ticket from the official website costs HKD 300 for adults. If you are a Klook user, book your tickets here, to save up to HKD 48. If you plan to take the peak tram, buy a morning combo ticket, which costs around HKD 270. It includes the round-trip peak tickets and a ticket to the museum. Note that this is a morning combo, so you have to arrive before 12 noon. At the entrance of Madame Tussaud Museum, you have to present your booking on your visit day between 9:30 am to 11:45 am.

Monopoly Dreams

Our first stop when we reached The Peak, is Monopoly Dreams. This place opened in 2019, it is the first monopoly-themed attraction in Hong Kong. You don’t get to play the iconic boardgame here, but there are different minigames and photo opportunities inside that you don’t want to miss.

We bought our tickets from Klook and redeemed them at the ticket counter. The staff toured us around and let us get a glimpse of Mr. Monopoly’s mansion. Different versions of Monopoly are displayed, with some fun facts about the iconic board game.

We watched a short 4D film, and the staff asked us to queue and play Ultimate Banking. Each person can play the game once. The game is simple, just grab as much Monopoly money as you can within the 20-second time limit. The M10 and M50 monopoly money can be used as $1 and $5 coupons in the souvenir shop. When I started to get the hang of it, 20 seconds was over.

Before you leave the attraction, play one last game and try your luck, my friends got a Monopoly pin and a toy car, while I got a meal discount voucher that can be used in one of the restaurants in the Peak.

Sky Terrace

The Sky Terrace offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the magnificent Hong Kong city. The Klook package includes an entrance to the Sky Terrace, which allowed us to go up to the viewing deck and capture some splendid pictures of the stunning Hong Kong skyline. There is no time restriction when visiting the Sky Terrace, giving you ample time to explore and enjoy the view. If I had another opportunity to visit this amazing place, I would prefer to go during the late afternoon hours to witness the sunset and the mesmerizing skyline at night.

Madness 3D Adventure

If you are looking for free things to do, don’t miss this trick eye museum in the Peak Galleria. The entrance is free, get there early if you want to go, it is usually crowded in the afternoon. There are three spots where you cannot use your mobile phone to take pictures. The official photographers will take the pictures for you, you can view and buy the photos before you go.

Opening hours: 11 am to 8 pm

Hong Kong Trail (Lugard Road)

Lastly, before taking the peak tram down to Admiralty, you can also check out the Hong Kong trail. You’ll walk around in a big circle, a perfect way to view Hong Kong, Kowloon, and some outlying islands. The trail takes around 40 to 60 minutes.

Depending on the time you spent on each attraction, you can easily spend half a day here at Victoria Peak. To make it a full-day itinerary, you may also want to check out the Amusing Moment Selfie Studio, and High West Peak.
